Tonight's film of choice.

I watched Aftersun on iplayer a couple of weeks ago and while I didn’t fully ‘get’ it while watching it, I read a little about it afterwards and it’s been one of those powerful films that has stayed with me. Incredible music scene at the very end that I’ve had to go back and watch a few times since.
Not one to watch if you are need of a fast paced entertaining popcorn film or a bit of cheer, mind.

I said after I'd watched it.
It absolutely hit me like a sledgehammer.
I guess you can watch it and think it's slow and ponderous but if you're not looking for clues you simply won't get it.

I watched half of The Bikeriders last night and was really enjoying it I will probably watch the rest tonight. I wanna see the new Nosferatu and Gladiator 2 I'm tempted to get them on Sky store but think if I wait a few more weeks they will be on one of the streaming services anyway.

Just remembered one that was much better than I was expecting. Monkey Man. Dev Patel was excellent in an action role, which I really didn’t expect. Actually really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Revenge movie, similar to Taken in violence and entertainment, but better story. Well worth a watch if you liked Taken.
Not sure if it’s free to stream anywhere yet, as I saw it a while again when I had to pay for it.

There's a mention of Middlesbrough in this film, blink and you may miss it. The police ask if a dead man has anyone that can be told and I think the reply is "he has an uncle? in Middlesbrough, I think"
It's in the book too. Spelt wrong. Must have been 80 years since it was released and they still haven't picked up on it.

Last film I watched was Rebel Moon part two. Both critically and popularly savaged. It was in fact class.

I’ve just watched it. What did you make of the ending? Felt a bit bleak for me but I think it was meant to be up to interpretation?
I thought it was consistent with the rest of the film personally. I don't think the film was relying on a blockbuster ending or twist. The attraction of the film to me was the development of the relationship between the two characters. The awkwardness of the ending between them almost finished the story full circle.
