I take it that you think that people have a better/ more opportunities and a better life in the UK rather
than here in Australia.?
Funny that, I seem to read all the time here on fmttm the cost of living, petrol, heating, food etc and how ***** the gov't is
and that life is a struggle for many.

Don't get me wrong, I love to see the aussies get battered at any sport by any other nationality but I have lived here for over
fifty years and never once have I had to search for a job or worry about having to pay my bills.
Still to this day it is a land of wonderful opportunity and young people should seriously consider making the move. I'm certainly
glad that my parents did.
There is only one thing that I miss and that is my footy team, the " Boro"

As soon as I get the chance I’m off again. Was hoping the Boro would see me through the next year but they are really testing me at the minute. If it wasn’t for the kids then don’t think I would be around. Especially when you get grief off the wife.
Australia would be amazing but just for a holiday I think. Looking for the financial rewards as well as the lifestyle, getting neither of those here!
Don’t get me wrong by the way, I love the Boro and my roots.

You're right mate, it was said in jest, I wasn't sure at the time and felt the need to defend the country
that has given me a wonderful existence for over fifty years.

I arrived in 69 as a pimply 15 year old with no school leavers certificate and within a week of arrival got myself an apprenticeship.
There were so many opportunities that you could tell your boss where to stick his job and be working elsewhere the next day.
That continued throughout my fifty years of being in the workforce and I had the opportunity and pleasure to go into many
different fields of employment, hence the reason, why I never not only had any struggles whatsoever in paying my bills but also
to have had the finances to have travelled the world extensively as well as paying off my house.

I very much appreciate all of what Australia offered and what I achieved throughout my working lifetime.
I also appreciate the fact that during job interviews for my entire working life, I was never questioned about not having a school
leavers certificate and that you were taken on face value and experience.
