Today is National Fish and Chip Day and the Question is.

Mushy peas!!

Imagine asking for garden peas in a chip shop.

Mushy or ya barred

Living down south you would be shocked how many go for roll off the fork peas instead of mushy! Seems a southern preference for some. In the North. Rare if not at all.

We make our own mushy peas in a pot - marrowfat peas simmered slowly. Never from a can.

Only ever eat them out of the wrapping so neither, they make a mess of your fingers.
Love mushy peas with a pie, garden peas in pasta dishes, marrowfats with a mince dinner.

Mushy peas... Hands down👍

Chips / large Cod and mushy peas with 2 slices of bread and a large mug of strong tea. Also must have heinz Tomato sauce. The food of champions👍

If I'm having a couple of battered sausages instead of fish I swap out the peas for curry sauce.

Embarrassed myself once couldnt make mind ip whether wanted cod or haddock...I said coddock and chips please 🙄
I actually prefer beans with my fish and chips btw
