How long have you been turning? Here’s a few of mine. I’ve got a chunk of yew on the go at the moment but a crack I hoped would turn out isn’t. It’s a natural edge, thinking about ordering some epoxy resin and giving that a go.
I bought my lathe from Axminster and is only a short bed. I wish I had hung on and joined the club first, I certainly would have bought different. I’m saving up for a Stratos FU 230.I’ve been turning about five years but go through stages where I don’t do much. I’ll have a look at the Jo Sonja stuff.
Ive got a record power CL3 lathe. Friends and family snaffle my work as soon as it is done usually! I’ve got the long bed lathe but haven’t attempted any spindle work as yet.
Do you fancy giving it a go Bill? What a coincidence. I watch some wood turning videos on Youtube last night and sat there mesmerized. They turned out some breath taking stuff.
no pun intended.
Lots of talented work on hereI’m not the best with my hands - I remember trying to make a bird table once, it ended so big it looked like a helicopter landing pad
It is not called sawdust, it is man glitterI'm a master at turning wood into sawdust, I just seem to have no affinity with the stuff. Plus I have 5 grandchildren and a membership at a golf club.
I'm watching more Youtube than anything else at the moment, right now it's the 1996 Masters (it use to be 7/24 football with no time for anything else) and I just stumbled on the wood turning, While I doubt I'll be taking up wood turning I'll definately be watching some more.
That’s a serious bit of kit, hadn’t heard of it before.I bought my lathe from Axminster and is only a short bed. I wish I had hung on and joined the club first, I certainly would have bought different. I’m saving up for a Stratos FU 230.
This some of my work that I have painted.
Every time I get near to having the money something else in the house needs doing. That’s a serious bit of kit, hadn’t heard of it before.
