To whoever is responsible in bringing FMTTM

Suppose it depends on your reason for blocking ads. There's a strong ethical reason to do so given that it's not as simple/black and white as "it pays for the site", given the insidious nature of the data tracking involved and how that is used to build up a profile of that user to serve ads. Some people do not like that level of invasion of privacy. People are probably happy to support rob directly in lieu of ads, or have local ads that aren't data tracking based.
Kind of agree. But no ads = no site, unless there's a subscriber model which brings its own issues.

No escaping data collection I'm afraid. For example, people have ad block but then don't disable location services on phones, debit cards, cctv, loyalty cards etc

All data used to profile people.

It does pay for the site - and enables it to be free. Everyone wants to be paid for their job. This is mine.
Local ads - well I constantly try and promote local bars, cafes, businesses - am always appealing for people to do this. But I realise there isn't always the money locally to support with adverts. No body wants to have a website like the Gazette - it isn't sustainable on any level. I don't do gambling. Don't do pop ups. Don't do pop unders. Try and keep it work safe etc.
The model did work until this year - the problem was the guy in charge his aversion to wanting to change anything and not allowing me. I have had to stick with him now to be able to work with this new commercial company - I tried to reach out to several websites and didn't get a reply from any. Except from a Man Utd site who have helped make all this possible.
The Fair I understand you mean well - but it just does not work the way you say. And yes I could easily get free webspace as well. But we need servers that can cope with the load and spikes in the load.
I remember the network you worked on. It was a very different concept. And it worked really well for you.
