Time - BBC 1 New Series

I just googled where it was filmed

Time is filmed from a building which was once HM Prison Shrewsbury before it was decommissioned in March 2013.

I watched two out of the three.

probably just scratches the surface of how horrific prison is for all involved.

man uncomfortable watch at times.

Having worked in a few prisons I found it very real to life. Some bits were off track like closing the cell door behind him would not happen as it dead locks. But on the whole very true and gripping. Took a colleague to A+E after having hot water and sugar thrown over him luckily he covered up before he caught the brunt in his face, sadly he committed suicide a few years later. Prison Officers and staff are easily forgotten about the work they do and the stress they are under. that nick looked very similar to Bedford Prison showing them old jails are still about.

A very difficult watch. Script enthralling and acting was totally engrossing and you couldn't miss McGovern's many points as he got them all in; for cons, screws and victims.

I'm sure Priti Patel is working to reform the prison system very soon . . .

Would that mix of prisoners be together in that security level of prison?

Mine was a C Cat in Norfolk. We had a vast array of prisoners with various crimes from murder to bank robbery on the wings. TBF the crime was rarely mentioned but we had facilities to check, for vetting purposes, especially when it came down to working with females. It's only when I spent time in Holme (3 months) the VP's had their own wing due to their crimes.

We need more programmes like this to scare the crap out of young'uns who think prison would be a 'laugh'
They need to spend a week under a prison regime to understand it's not really a hotel. I would go old fashion and back to the 6am knock ups, slop out and PT in all weathers. Far too many do gooders would put a stop to it mind.

Brilliant program both acting and writing. It shows how brutal prison life is and those working there deserve huge credit.

British prisons in a the 21st Century; drugs, addicts, violence and many without the basic skills needed in life.

The few lines on “ grassing” were classic, “ I can prove I’m not a grass now they’ve poured boiling sugar on me, they’ll even leave me alone maybe”.

Also, "you're in prison as punishment not for punishment"

They tried that with the show 'Scared Straight' or something like that but it actually didn't work.

I only watched the first episode so far, it’s very good but mental illness and drugs are far more prevalent then depicted
