Had everything years ago. Top sportsman, multi millionaire, was tipped to be a possible US President at one point. Now looks like having to retire. Wonder why it never happened for him?!
 
Liked a drink too much , and a dodgy back ….
depression when he’s not in the golf limelight .
a combination of alcohol/illnes/depression I guess

It never happened to him? He won 15 majors, 83 tour titles and amassed the greatest amount of money in golf history.
 
Think he said it himself. Fame and money got to him and he thought he was untouchable. His ex wife proved he wasn’t.
 
Yeah, he was no Lee Westwood or Colin Montgomerie.

He never even won the European Order of Merit FFS, waste of a talent ;)
 
That is like the story George Best use to tell.

Best was in bed with Miss World (forget her name) and the bed was covered in money he had won at a casino. Besty orders champagne and nibbles to be brought up to his room and it is delivered by a waiter. The waiter scans the scene, a half-naked Miss World, thousands of pounds scattered on the bed and empty champagne bottles all around the room. Besty is obviously in a good mood and is having a joke with the waiter, as the waiter is leaving the room he turns and asks Besty 'where did it all go wrong.'
 
I think he's a really interesting character, obviously very driven, but also fallible too.

There's a brilliant 2 part documentary about him on Sky, in case anyone's interested. Seemed his relationship with his father played a big part in his life, both good and bad.

What I mean is that he is now, more or less, an ex top Golfer. He has talked about not being a regular on the Pro circuit this week. He is not even mentioned for the Presidential role that he was going to get years ago after he retired. The clean cut multicultural candidate is no more. Basically ruined by breaking up with his wife due to affairs, other drunken episodes and injuring himself in a crash where no other car was involved. Maybe he is, like somebody mentioned, the new George Best. It is unusual for a golfer to do this though? He had everything.

Awful comparison
George Best had 3/4 good years in a very good united team
Tiger has been the worlds best golfer/dominated the sport/won everything for 2+ decades, he is literally the greatest ever golfer.
