Those poor Everton fans

If your football team means more to you than your marriage or family or job then you’ve probably got your priorities in life wrong. Would be my take.

It is only a bloody game!
For someone who preaches mental health, you're quite quick to judge how people you do not know, from walks of life you obviously cannot comprehend, should rank their priorities. I hope nobody uses "it's only" against you.

We've seen first hand what a manager with a different outlook and tactical take can do with the same squad of players. We were struggling with that charlatan Wilder, look at us now.

Don't think its all doom and gloom, Everton have so players that have played to a good level before. If Dyche can get them organised, working hard and get the crowd behind them i think they will stay up.

Dyche also needs to do a bit of a Venables type move and get some of the sick bed players out on the pitch. Too many been crying off

Papa don’t preach I’ve been losing sleep
Papa don’t preach I’m in trouble deep

Or you could say people who put their job before life's pleasures have prioritised incorrectly.
Work to Live, not vice versa.
And not everyone is married or have close family connections. My mother has recently died and her husband has no-one else. I am his only 'family' and live 300 miles away.
If it wasn't for his involvement in his local Rugby League club I'm not sure what he would do. So it's not 'only rugby' to him.

I could say a lot of things but I can’t be bothered quite frankly.

Either way, if Everton go down it’s not the end of the world.

If Boro don’t go up this year I’m not gonna top myself. Actually I might. But hey who cares? I’m just the preacher man aren’t I.

FFS.

Always seem to turn it round onto you. The bloke was telling you how in his experience, 'its only' is not valid, as he is the only family for an elderly gentleman who lives 300+ miles away so for that bloke, his rugby club is his life but going by your words its only rugby? Your choice of words is pathetic for someone who preaches mental health and has had countless posts on your own mental health but when someone else has a different view, you're quick to diminish those views and turn it back onto you topping yourself, again.

FFS.

Not the end of the world for most Everton fans I'm sure, but possibly devastating for others. Everyone is different with different triggers.
I'm not sure what your preacher man comment refers to. Or your FFS.

But for reference: Only a game?

And there is no light at the end of the tunnel. It seems to me that they are gearing up for relegation and hoping Dyche's experience in the Championship will get them promoted on the first go.

Myself, I hope they do a Leeds and drop down to L1.
they are clearly hoping he keeps them up, more than brings them back up lol

Apparently I preach on here about mental health. Preach preach preach. So the poster who wrote might like to know that he or she has fkd me off big time and has been blocked.

I’ve got 101 things going on in my life that are more worrying than whether my football team win or lose or draw sign any players or get promoted relegated so I’m really not going to argue the toss about this any further. Middlesbrough Football Club are a diversion from real life. It just isn’t a matter of life or death. I would feel sorry for Everton fans if their club folds and they go out of business but nothing more than that. They go down, they are still there to watch.

Have a nice day.

In the meantime I’m now going to go and get all preachy about something.

Stop attacking me please. Thank you.

No one on here would be bothered if Everton went down.
Southampton - they look in bother
Everton - championship ready
Bournemouth - Free Marcus Tavernier
Wolves - living our alternate Chinese owner life
West Ham - properly deserve to go down
Leeds - Gestede for £6m sliding doors moment

Sheffield Utd did well to keep Sander Berge.. I guess we just need to win all of our remaining games now!

Ok. I understand that football doesn't overly worry you personally. Which is great.
The point I was making is that it can and does affect other people in different ways so it is harsh to write off their feelings as trivial.
(Even if I do want Everton to go down, but only if we go up :)).

who re the rats? looks like a championship team tbh

£40m + Parachute payments ready to be blown in the championship..
So can you really see the likes of

Calvert Lewin
Iwobi
Keane
Pickford
Coady
Tarkovsky????

Playing in the championship ???

Not a chance.

They’ll be straight on top to agents to get the first raft out
