Know it's early days but look more solid and what a start and what a difference.Under Carrick it was lovely football at times but to inconsistent and shocking defending hopefully this management can make a difference.I feel like this was Scott's appointment rather than Gibsons.

Agree with looking more solid. I’ll admit that RE was not my favourite candidate during the selection phase, but I was really impressed with the way his coaching staff was put together by choosing what appeared to be best fit candidates, rather than his old cronies from his last position, or being forced to accept whoever we still had on the payroll. The transformation in how we defend, and set pieces in general (defence and attack) is what is making me most optimistic about this season. Early days and all that, but with some additions this could be quite a ride this season

We’ll keep hold just need to keep him fit. Was a worry in second half today when it sounded like he might have had a groin injury.

He seems to have grown as a player over the summer.. the captains armband certainly seems to suit him. The most frustrating thing about Fry was how he would say he was quiet and how he preferred to rely on an experienced defender alongside him.
Maybe RVDB coming in and shouting and showing leadership qualities a bit of a wake up? 10 years in now.. there’s no more looking for an experienced shoulder to lean on.. he is that guy.
Fact is he’s been up against some top strikers over the years and he’s not looked out of place.
