This is the most corrupt government we’ve ever had

I’d say it’s unbelievable but with this government nothing surprises me anymore. People are hooked in with false promises and tactics designed to create division. They are an utter disgrace but I'm sure that the resident Tory will be along in a minute to say that it would've been worse under Labour.

The amount of public money that continues to be stolen is criminal and unfortunately with a huge majority they seem to think that they are untouchable.

I'm sure he works hard and deserves every one of our pennies. Think of the business generated for recycling these useless items. This is capitalism at its best.

Thing is, the thread in the opening post is just one of many that litter social media. There are so many examples of it, it’s hard to keep track of them. Drowning in a sea of corruption and dodgy deals and mates rates, to the point that people are just becoming completely numb to it.
The apathy in the population, apart from amongst those that actually look into this kind of thing, is probably unparalleled. A lot of people simply don’t want to know about the reality because it’s too distressing.

It says something when the best chance of a reversal of the trend is a hope that the more moderate Tories, those with some level of morals, get together and stick the knife into this shambolic, amateur, corrupt bunch of absolute chancers.

Ernest Marples - Minister for Transport 1959-64 - owner of Marples-Ridgqway [A major road builder] was the force behind the closure of 4000 miles of Britains Railways [Beeching was the person chosen to wield the axe].
Marples company was a major benefactor from the increasing focus on car - centric 1960`s +. His company built new roads, motorways, by-passes and acquired huge swathes of public land, courtesy of public money.
He benefited by millions and fled Britain amidst allegations of tax fraud, leaving the legacy we see today.
Conflict of Interest (?) You bet!

I suppose that deliberately starting wars doesn't count as corruption so that's Blair's rabble out.

Theyve strong armed the BBC to into silence these days through threats and now we have a service we pay for that endorses everything they do.
They have the so called free press in their pockets now.

And yet they decry the overseas aid budget as just lining the pockets of foreign officials when what they really mean is that’s billions more that could be lining ours!

And there's more today ....

Coronavirus: Safety concerns halt use of 50 million NHS masks

.......
Fifty million face masks bought by the government in April will not be used in the NHS because of safety concerns.
The government says the masks, which use ear-loop fastenings rather than head loops, may not fit tightly enough.
They were bought for healthcare workers from supplier Ayanda Capital as part of a £252m contract .... It also emerged that the person who originally approached the government about the deal was a government trade adviser who also advises the board of Ayanda.

That's the same thing.

It is unsurprising. They suspended the tendering processes which usually weed these things out because they've never get the contract if up against genuine bids. Suspending tendering was good, because it allowed much quicker ordering but it meant the people having to make the decision had to be trusted to do their own due diligence and they will undoubtedly have been taken advantage of by overpaying to anyone with stock, or it seems, just the promise of stock.
