This is pretty cool

While it could match Concorde's cruising speed, its fuel consumption rate was significantly higher, allowing it to sustain that speed only for a matter of minutes.

Despite the Tornado's capabilities, capturing the iconic photograph posed a unique challenge. To maximize its speed and keep up with the Concorde, the Tornado was stripped of all non-essential equipment. The crew made every effort to maintain the pace, racing to catch up with the Concorde as it soared through the skies. However, due to the Tornado's limited endurance at high speeds, the crew had to make the difficult decision to break off the rendezvous after just four minutes. Meanwhile, the Concorde, an engineering marvel of its time, continued its journey, gracefully cruising towards its destination at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Despite the Tornado's formidable capabilities as a combat aircraft, it could only briefly keep pace with the Concorde's supersonic flight.

Could be going any speed to be fair.
True it was more the surprise at how rare this was but when you read what it took you can see why.

It just shows what incredible an aircraft Concorde was.

I’ve mentioned this before on here but it must be one of the the only times that technology has actually gone backwards as even now 50 years on nothing comes to Concorde.

If there was a demand there would be a Concord II but I don’t think there is nowadays unfortunately.

I believe if it had been American, it would still be flying.

Quoted from the Lost Wonder of Concorde - The Americans refused to let it take off and land for much of its early career, citing safety concerns for local residents. However, the real reason, as British Airways knew then and John confirms, was jealousy.

‘The Americans were very envious of the fact that we’d done it,’ he believes. ‘At Dulles airport [near Washington DC], they finally decided to give Concorde a chance. It was a six-month trial in 1976. Of course, the problem that Dulles had wasn’t noise, but the coachloads of people who turned up at the airfield fence to watch it take off and land.’

If they could only have improved the noise level it would have helped achieve a quicker transatlantic flight time and more exciting takeoff.

Absolutely they ( Boeing) did all they could to get it stopped in the early days and were looking at any opportunity to act.
