In my 34 years of following the Boro, I can’t remember enjoying watching us play more. We’ve obviously had better times in Europe etc, but the way we play now is just gorgeous.
It's not just the football we are playing, but the freedom of expression that Carrick has given them.
I'm more than happy to accept that they could lose the odd game because I know that normal service will be resumed and a defeat won't linger.
You can imagine a lot of managers throwing all sorts of solutions at their players after a defeat whereas I think Carrick just tells them to shrug it off and go and play the same way again.
It's very noticeable how the armchair tacticians on here are no longer pouring over lineups and formations. We play this way and will play this way all the way to the PL.
I would be doing everything to extend MC's contract and getting him tied down.
I know there will be highs and lows along the way but there is something about this guy that makes him special and he feels like he belongs here (unlike CW).
I had more or less written off this season but to have transformed it the way that he has is unbelievable. Already looking like a potential England manager.
I can't wait until he gets a few more of his own players in - we are going to go from strength to strength.
Been watching Boro since 1969 and the Charlton years were great but football was a tough game then, more physical when the likes of Souness would rule with iron..... modern footie is much more technical more flow and a hell of a lot less physical so hard to compare the Carrick v Charlton teams .... let me just say it is a pleasure watching the Boro since Carrick came and without doubt the Archer, Ramsey Giles signings are the backbone along with Chubas turnaround makes this team workmanlike and a REAL team ... long may it continue
