28th March I & 2 of my mates travelled to Maine Road for the 1st division fixture at Man City on one of many of the Bee Line coaches travelling

Going in to this fixture the Boro had won all 4 matches in March & hoping to get something at City to keep our challenge for a top 2 placing in the 1st division

On arriving at the ground the police told us to go in the ground as we will be safe due to a wall seperating rival fans
Once in the ground I couldn't believe the size of the wall seperating both lots of fans as time was ticking by to kick off & both ends filling up the wall became no obstacle as City fans started to climb over the wall towards us Boro fans when yiu just knew they were waiting to charge
And they did
I was 14 at the time & feeling a bit uneasy then as City ran we headed towards the turn style's, fans were still paying in as we were jumping the turnstiles to get out, I was pulled back from jumping through the turnstile then a mate I travelled with, 2 years older than me, practically threw me over the turnstile & out the ground
Once outside I paid in to the seats behind the goal with my scarf hid under my barathear, SP, jacket

Onto the game, David Mills scored our only goal to equalise City's opener for Rodney Marsh to later put City 2-1 up & that's how it stayed

I only went to Maine Road once - for the second leg of that semi-final. It was a somewhat challenging experience. Only made worse by getting into some chew with United fans in Manchester centre after the match
