As soon as he walked through the door he was on about big signings & running us along the lines of Man Utd, I thought how can that be so, we've never been like that as a club, yes we've made big signings now & then but sold to balance the books, seems he was going to change all that

It was an amazing time I remember watching the transfer sites on teletext just to see who we were linked with next.... and then they would arrive!!!

it was a great time even the crazy ones like Branco... yes the Branco and here he was in as Boro shirt.

crazy amazing days.

Few clubs will ever have an era like that.

The real excitement didn't start until Barmby really. We actually signed a current England striker in his prime from a big London club. I know he was 'homesick' but that was massive.
