When on the 28th September Bernie bagged his 5th goal of the season & the quickest Boro v Sunderland goal when scoring in front of the ecstatic holgate to put Boro 1-0 up after 17 seconds

Paul Wilkinson added the 2nd for his 6th of the season, to put the mighty Boro two up & comfortable, didnt the Sunderland keeper claim assists for both of our goals?
Again the destruct button was hit, cruising & in total control John Hendrie kicks out at the Sunderland full back, both players receiving their marching orders with Sunderland benefiting immediatly by clawing back a goal but we held on in the end

At the time, Tyne-Tees TV were running an ad for Sunderland season tickets. At the end of this cheapo production there was a cluster of voices repeating: "Get your season tickets now".
When Slaven scored his opener everyone in the chicken run seats near me broke out into a chorus of: Sell your season tickets now!...
 
Paul Wilkinson and John hendrie were excellent. It seemed like they scored every game. I know they didn't. But that's just how it felt
