Who couldn't keep a clean sheet & were finding it hard to win games, not a very god combination, with two victories to our name since the turn of the year & slipping down the 1st division table when on this day the 8th April we played Southampton at home, the last team we beat

Gary Hamilton smashed a corker to put us one up, Gary Gill was told to run off a broken leg, we then caved in & fell behind only for Slaven, who else & Mark Burke to bring us a much needed point, we can't buy a win but it's now 3 draws out of 4
A crowd of 16,983 AP were hopeful that the Boro will have enough to survive in the top flight after gaining promotion the previous summer

Was there at the game. Think all of the crowd knew what happened to Gary Gill except for Tommy Johnson?. If memory serves we vote a new physio not long after.

A little after that Gilly attended the MSS Party on crutches. Pub on the Thames I recall. Was after a game
at QPR on the day of theHillsborough disaster.
