Went to his testimonial. Along with 30,000 plus others. Against Leeds 2-2.
Gordon McQueen got some stick that night - Who would have thought what a Boro man he has turned out.
Unbelievable crowd for a testimonial given it was followed by averages around 7/8 thousand for subsequent testimonials for crowd favourites which Bill certainly was not.
Right place right time for Bill. Often wondered if the proceeds set him up for his rich lifestyle in the Cayman Islands
