We played out a dull 0-0 at Loftus Rd but it was memorable obviously for one thing. Hillsborough.

Also that evening I recall MSS putting on their best ever party. Some pub on the river. The whole team attended and some players even stayed overnight so drank with us until midnight. Rippers was one as was Gilly on crutches.

That was a great evening
 
That party was a pub called the Thamesside Inn near London Bridge. I didnt go that night but I went to one a year or so later there. Again players galore. Have photos somewhere which I will try and find.
 
I went to Hartlepool that afternoon to see (and photograph) the Amercican Eagles RU team play England North. Remember watching an exciting young Boro lad and promising ruggerbugger by the name of Tony Underwood.

Then I got home and put the telly on ....

Wow, remember listening to that game in my kitchen, we had won at West Ham midweek when Bernie scored two late goals to seal the away win, we just needed 3 points at QPR, which would have saved us from going down, it wasnt to be though
 
Yes that’s it the Old Thameside Inn. The gaffer was a mackem I recall. Is it still around? Welll not athis very moment of course.
