I was there but I only got to the night games and occasional Saturdays as I was still playing footy on a Saturday that season.

They're the ones that think football was invented by Sky Sports in 1992.

Can't see who scored for Oldham, but I'll bet Roger Palmer scored. As per usual.

I was there. I usually went in the holgate but went in the chicken run to stand with my Dad and Mam and younger brother. It was that quiet you could hear the players shouting and talking to each other.

Remember standing in the Holgate looking at all the empty spaces, thinking WTF has happened? It was like standing at a funeral.
But, hey! We rose again!

I wasn’t at that match because I was living down south at the time but it’s an interesting team with a few Boro legends in there.

Mills, Mogga, Ripley, Otto and Nattrass.

In their prime all top class footballers.

I was there. And again 4 days later when we played Notts County at home and lost that one too, 0-1, in front of another record low crowd. I think Notts County were bottom and we were second from bottom, which made it worse,

That season was soul-destroying watching the Boro in terminal decline.

Just 3 or 4 seasons earlier we were a good young exciting top tier team, as well as reaching that infamous FA Cup quarter-final vs Wolves.

I can remember a night match against Bournemouth , league cup?, in which Pollock either made his debut or came on as a sub and looked a world beater.... that was a poor crowd as well... help me erimus when was it

That game took place on 24/9/1991. 2nd round first leg of the League Cup. Drew 1-1 (Wilkinson) but we went on to reach the semi finals. Around that time the attendance wasn’t as bad as you remember. Over 10000. Not huge but not at the terrible levels of the mid 80s. In fact we only dipped below 10000 once that season.

Your right I am on the wrong game.... looking back now that Bournemouth game I had a season in the seats behind the goal....the match I am on about was Lennie Lawrence and I was sitting in the terrace seats in the North Stand , Pollock was sub and came on late full of running ...low crowd tho ...sorry no fkg idea who or when. I dont have a mind for detail just memories that ping around the nut.

I went to Bournemouth with a few mates for the 2nd leg of the league Cup, Boro won 2-1 after extra time, Jamie Pollock came on either in to extra time, or back end of normal time wearing the No14 shirt

Was there at this game, with a mate who was a Sunderland fan!!! How he took the ****. I always thought it was against Bolton, not sure why?

Don't think I was there but remember watching Oldham and the score with either 2-2 or 3-2 to Oldham, remember a very late goal.
Erimus I'm sure you can pinpoint the game?

I was at the Notts Co game with my old fella...remember it snowing during the game. Always thought that was the lowest crowd. Dark days indeed. Think Kerneghan made his debut as centre forward v Notts Co.

Maccarone you are talking about the Sky game that was 3-2 to Oldham. Late goal was by Hignett but we were already 3-1 down. Monday night and mentioned in another thread about Sky at Ayresome Park. 1993
