16th March seen Alan Kernaghan starting his 6th game, scoring his 1st Boro goal in a 1-0 home win over Sheffield United with Brian Laws, when the late, great Willie Maddren, signed Laws from Huddersfield, making his debut wearing the No2 shirt, the 6th player that season to don the No2 shirt
Boro had last tasted victory on boxing day with a 3-0 win at Carlisle, our last home win a 2-1 on the 20th October 85 v Man City, a long time coming
10 games since a win & 20 games since winning on Teesside
The attendance of 5,204 was ecstatic with a great home win, a new goalscorer & a debutant
