When on this day, 16th March, the mighty Boro went to the west Midlands & thrashed 2nd placed West Brom 4-0 at the Hawthorns

With goals from Alan Foggon, his 13th of the season, Graeme Souness his 3rd of the season & a brace from King John, one being a penalty, taking his tally to eight

This team was now hitting top gear & far to good for any team in that division
Since the little blip when losing at Forest 5-1 & 0-0 at home to Blackpool, the Boro have now won 5 on the bounce, scoring 13 & conceding 3

The majority crowd of 24,178 seen a visiting team wipe the floor with their team & deserved every accolade going

Big Jacks team
Jim Platt
John Craggs
Frank Spraggon
Graeme Souness
Stuey Boam
Willie Maddren
Bobby Murdoch
David Mills
John Hickton
Alan Foggon
Davey Armstrong

And 3 nights later we went to Fulham and won 4-0 again. Bobby Moore debut for Fulham IIRC

Two 4-nil away victories.... and it took us a while to lose the "boring" tag... we played at "Tiresome Park" according to one journalist at the time
