9th April Bolton travelled to Ayresome Park on a mild Tuesday night, probably not looking forward to what is probably waiting for them, the Boro, who are already won the 2nd division champions & after a convincing 4-0 win at home to Notts County only 3 days earlier had won 9 games on the bounce & going for a victory against Bolton to increase the longest winning run to 10 games

Big Jack decided to rest Jim Platt, missing his 1st game since his debut on the 2nd October 1971, handing Pat Cuff his debut between the sticks
Boro's 2nd highest attendance of the season, 28,143 were hoping for another 2 points & a home win, unfortunately football doesn't work that way & both teams had to settle for a point each as the game fizzled out for a goalless draw
Either side of the tremendous 9 game winning run we had drew both games 0-0 at home & the only 2 teams we failed to beat home, or away in that amazing & unbelievable season

Big Jacks team

Pat Cuff
John Craggs
Jimmy Cochrane - His 3rd & final Boro appearance
Graeme Souness
Stuey Boam
Willie Maddren
Bobby Murdoch
David Mills
John Hickton
Alan Foggon
Davey Armstrong
Sub
Peter Brine

And it my late mother's 39th birthday ❤️
