He’s football crazy,
He’s football mad
And if you support Sunlun
You must be fcking mad
They’re the worst team in football
And that you must agree,
And they won’t beat the Boro
Cos we’ve got McMordie

Eric, Eric McMordie. Eric McMordie

A little chant sung in the Holgate.

Think when he retired he had a shop - was it Brambles Farm?

Morning Erimus. As Capy said there was another chant for him. I believe it was Sha La La Le by the Small faces. The chant I mentioned was to the song He’s Football Crazy.

Eric was mentioned in another chant - They call us Middlesbrough, we are the kings of the land

He definitely had the shop on Marshall Ave up until the late 80s.
I used to deliver to it now and again.
Gordon Jones ran an off licence (I think) in Stockton. Blayney Wines I think.

Yes visited the shop, sibce he mived away I've been tryibg to get his autograph for my last season at AP & 1973-74 scrapbooks, unsuccessful so far

My sister was friends with his daughter when we kids n the late 70's/early 80's. He gave me a lift to the match a few times and got me into the players bar afterwards, which was living the dream for me at that age.

I bump into him occasionally around Stokesley/Hutton Rudby (although the last time was pre-covid) and he always stops for a chat.

Top bloke.

He came over from Belfast with George Best and they triled together at Man Utd, but Eric went back to Belfast because he was homesick. He came back over a couple of years later and signed for Boro
