For an FAC 4th round tie after knocking out 1st division giants Man City 1-0 at Ayresome Park in a 3rd round replay
The Boro travelled to the Den the previous week in a league two fixture, losing 1-0

Stan Anderson stuck with the same team & hoping for a different result & progression to the next round
Stan must have been overjoyed when his penultimate FAC game as manager of the Boro seen us take a 2-0 lead with goals from John Hickton with his 2nd FAC goal & 11th in total for the season & Derek Downing with his 1st FAC goal that season & 3rd total of the season, with minutes remaining it looked as though the Boro are going to have our 1st win at Millwall since October 1928 when Millwall hit back with two very, very late goals to bring the cup tie level & force a replay at AP
As an 11 year old I can still remember that Saturday afternoon watching grandstand & the tape at the foot of the screen showing 1-0 to Boro, 2-0 to Boro then, bang 2 - 2, I was devasted & couldn't believed we had conceded two goals so quickly

I was there but missed the 2nd half after Millwall's hooligans attacked the Boro fans at half time and the police opened a gate to let us out for our own safety, found out it was 2-2 when we got back to Kings Cross.
