Seen us travel to Blackpool for an FAC 4th round, 1at leg Cup tie, our reward for knocking out Leeds 11-6 over 2 legs in the 3rd round

1945-46 was the only season that two legs were played in every round from the 1st round proper to the quarter finals

On this day we suffered a 3-2 defeat, with our goals coming from a Suart OG & Johnny Spuhler, still in the tie for the 2nd leg during the week at Ayresome Park 👍

That Cup campaign ended against Bolton. The game at Bolton was almost the last before the Burnden Park disaster killed 33 people in the next round. Play went on with the dead bodies laid out along the touchline, with a new line made with sawdust a couple of yards infield.

They made them tough in those days.

This day we reversed the 3-2 defeat away defeat to Blackpool in the 1st leg last saturday, with a 3-2 2nd leg home win, forcing a replay next monday, the 4th

The result over two legs brought the score level at 5-5, with Micky Fenton scoring a brace, taking his tally to date to 16, Jonny Spuhler got our other goal on the day

AAAAHHHH- Replays. Those were the days. None of this penalty ****. Proper games decided by goals.
As a matter of interest Erimus- do you know when the second/third etc replays ended? I can't remember.

1991-92 was season rule changed. 2 seasons after our 2nd 3 game defeat v Everton - still got our own back in 2002 to get to our 2nd semi
