When we beat Sheffield United 10-3 at Ayresome Park in front of our lowest attendance so far that season, 6,461

George Camsell scored 4 taking his tally to 14 so far, the 8th time he'd scored 4 goals in one game, on the way to scoring 23 league goals in 35 games. Robert Bruce bagged 3, taking his tally to 5 for the season, our 41st hattrick at AP & our 55th in total

The previous home game we'd put 6 past Stoke

Our lowest home attendance that season was the final home game v Leicester City when 4, 758 watched Boro win 4-1

1933 and 1934 were very grim years economically - I haven't got the figures but I would guess there was around 33% male unemployment on Teesside.

Those that were working were worried about losing their jobs and there was no welfare state.
