Bagged 4 goals, taking his goals to 13 so far, as the mighty Boro thrashed Portsmouth, who finished 2nd, 7-3 on the way to becoming champions of the 2nd division & scoring a record 122 league goals, with GC scoring 59 goals
GC missed the 1st four games & didnt score his 1st goal of the season till the 6th game, then practically every game after that, remarkable, Billy Pease, another excellent Boro golascorer scored a brace that day, taking his tally to 12 goal & finished off with 23 goals, John (Jackie) Carr, one of 4 Carr brothers who played for the Boro scored the 7th goal
This was the 5th time a player had scored 4 goals in one game so far since joining the laegue in 1899
