These steak places popping up everywhere

Tomahawks

Anyone ever been to one? Businesses are having to cut costs and run a tight ship, yet these places are turning up like they are on a production line. The rate of expansion wouldn't seem right in a booming hospitality industry....but in the middle of a pandemic?

It is strange, isn't it.
New one in Middlesbrough, Acklam Hall and now York, to add to their growing empire.

I don't get it, and, to be honest, I've not been that impressed with it.

Went to the one in Potto a few weeks ago to take advantage of the £10 and we had an 18th to catch up on.

It's expensive but quality. I had a Wagyu steak and my mouth is watering just remembering it.

I've been to the one in Potto. It was nice and i enjoyed it but wouldn't be in a rush to go back - i preferred it when it was the old Dog and Gun

I really rate the one in Potto (the original) and have been plenty of times, always had a fantastic experience - the steaks are delightful as are the sides. Got to say I was taken by surprise at the rapid rate of expansion, only ate once in the Yarm one and it was good but not as good as Potto.

Went to the one near Ponteland to take advantage of the £10 offer.
The steak was excellent to be fair, but not sure the wife would let me pay full price.
I noticed the teesside parmo was featured on the menu. Are they a teesside company?

Is Newcastle the only Rio to date? When you google it it's the only one that comes up. Not so with the Tomahawk.

Big fan of Tomahawk. Every time I've been to the one in Potto, it's been quality. Went for Sunday dinner at the Yarm one the other day, first time eating there, and was spot on too.

I've not been yet but the fact a full rack of ribs is available as a "side" to your steak 😂means it's definitely my kind of place. I'm still owed a 40th birthday meal out cancelled due to Covid. It's a contender (partly because it's one of the only circumstances the wife will allow it).

I do very much admire Ron Swanson. Even if he is a rabid right winger.

"You had me at meat tornado".

Heard him interviewed (Nick Offerman a while ago. He's pretty much at the opposite end of the political spectrum as Ron Swanson. He had interesting things to say.

Most actors are aren't they? Might take a look. I know he likes his woodworking like Ron does though.

Its hugely popular and its decent for what it is, but I'm not a fan really, I think its poor value.
The decent steaks are upwards of £30, which is a big mark up.

First time I went it was absolutely beautiful, though expensive, one of the best steaks I'd had.

But I went again the other week and it was smothered in garlic butter and could hardly taste the steak itself. Not what I wanted for £40+.

Both at the Potto branch.
The rooms were nice too.
