There is talk on various platforms about civil disobedience..............

Everyone. It's time for national unity. All workers are being done over by this government. We are all losing out. So yes, cowards like Nobby can sneer and coff behind sarcastic comments but we are approaching the time we need to act.
Do you know what would happen if everyone really just walked out of their jobs. Happy with major chemical, nuclear incidents?

I take it you will be at the front with your pitchfork ready to burn the village down.

It certainly doesn’t belong to people who voted the Tories in 2019 for a hard brexit and now want to tear up democracy to overturn a government 2 years out from a general election which is the right way we deal with democratic governance in this country

I’m more than happy to support in marches and demonstrations but arguing that 3.5% of the population can over throw a government is just idiocy

Wait until you get to go back to the ballot box

It’s that flipping simple!
Was Nobby specifically referring to people who voted tory though? The only reference I can see is "a person who espouses socialist ideals while enjoying a wealthy and luxurious lifestyle...." I have nothing against comfortably off people championing socialism, in fact without them we will not see the changes we are seeking. Socialism isn't about making everybody poor but achieving a decent lifestyle for all.

Meanwhile, back on planet earth 🌍

Would you be up for leading the fmttm uprising SmallTory ?
You could be a bit like John Connor in The Terminator I'm guessing 👍
We could all chant 'I voted Tory, but I didn't vote for Johnson' that would certainly learn them 👍

If you had been around at the time of the Suffragettes you'd have rubbished their ideas and anger too... - Pesky women getting the vote? Pah, clean my kitchen wench!

I've already told you it only takes 3.5% of the country. Look, keep making excuses for he government if you like, keep being cowardly but people are reaching breaking point and something needs to be done. You might be happy with the escalating costs of living and the increasing oppression but plenty aren't

Nah, I just live in the real world, are you seriously advocating civil unrest to topple the government ? Have you considered the implications that would have for all of us and our democracy ?

It's happened in plenty of other places Nob. France for one. They don't seem to be doing too badly

Small Town has no concept of the ramifications of what he is saying. The nick I worked in Norfolk was working 24 hours processing the like of him coming to the big house from that there London Town.

Yes but you said 3.5% and then said everyone, which one is it?
If its 3.5 % then that's fine, so the rest of the 96.5 % can stay at work and keep the country running.

People are going to starve and freeze to death whilst the richest 2% hoard resources that they could not utilise in a thousand lifetimes. Point me to that page in the election manifesto. If you’re happy sitting at home and paying your spiralling bills like a coward then that’s your prerogative.

The Government are poking many of the public with a stick, agitating to get a reaction, they can then implement more and more controls and remove freedoms that our forefathers have spent years fighting for, the aim is a neo-feudal state and means of mass control.

You only have to look at the law changes implemented over the last few years to see the slow erosion of rights and greater exertion of authority, the Brexit mantra of taking back control was not a happy accident and lockdown was a presentiment of what officialdom society will accept given certain circumstances.

Any protests will be infiltrated and turned violent as this end allows the government to release the means they've long hankered for, an excuse to further assert their dominance, everyone keeps saying about change at the ballot box but I'm genuinely concerned that the alterations of the electoral process are a Trojan Horse to reduce and undermine democracy, the Establishment have created conspiracies and whisper of Deep State infiltration, States of Emergency will become commonplace and I honestly believe that we're teetering on the brink of some dark political malevolence that we have sleepwalked into over a period of years.

We are not there yet, however, I can feel the breeze that comes before a storm, hopefully it will pass with a cloudburst but you only have to look at the calibre and nature of the fountainhead of power to know how far away from decency and equilibrium we as a nation have become.

I have every concept of what I'm talking about. It's kind of pathetic to shoot down notions of a general strike by the ridiculous "you want a nuclear meltdown" comment. But that's what we are facing I guess? Not a repressive, controlling and fascist government but people who enable them. People who shoot down any notion of doing something to help society. I guess that's the real problem

Where was all of this objection when life was being made impossible by the tories for anyone claiming benefits over the last 12 years? Some of the most vulnerable have had their lives made a living hell by this government yet still got a 80 seat majority last election. It was inevitable that we would all end up in the same boat eventually, not sure how so many couldn’t see it.

So glad we didn’t vote in Corbyn to take us back to the 70s…..

So people shouldn’t protest because the government will use it as an excuse to erode civil liberties and gain autocratic control? I’m afraid that’s already happening. If you can’t heat your house or buy food then you’re already in a perpetual “state of emergency”.
In your cloudburst, how many deaths from starvation and freezing are acceptable?

I really don't know WHAT YOU want. Change of Government is fine, however they are ALL THE SAME regardless, of party colour. They spend years undoing the previous Governments failings by creating their own. There is no Utopia Government while there is a trough to stick their own personal noses in for their own personal gain. I maybe wrong but I will wager all MP's get allowances for fuel and travel expenses along will a second home in or near the Capital etc. Show me a politician who is it for the people and NOT for themselves.

Careful.

Not all politicians are in it for themselves.

😏

No, wait. They all are. Eat the rich.

They aren't. That's probably the Tories greatest con trick isn't it? Engendering that kind of defeatist, beaten behaviour in people. It's patently not true. Is the Russian government the same as, say, the Norwegian government? Or the Japanese government
