I wouldn’t be dead against it.

Reading probably have the right idea. Bring him in to train to get a good look at him, might play a few pre season friendlies for them. See how his body copes. Extensive medical and discuss his wage demands.

Make a decision from there.
 
I wouldn’t be against this at all, an aging striker but a season in the championship as a squad player could make all the difference.
 
Surely footballers like Walcott are able to retire at 34.

There seems to be less players dropping down the leagues when in their 30s nowadays.

Walcott probably would have had to take a pay cut from £100k/week to £10k/week to play at Reading

Ben Foster had done it at Wrexham. but its rare.

Ben Foster has done it but he used to play for Reading and most importantly it will give him massive exposure as a media personality by appearing on a worldwide hit series on Disney+.

Walcott never lived up to his potential as a 16 year old. A couple of decent seasons but never set the world alight. Even if he was available I'm not sure why anyone would expect anything from him. He's never been prolific and his pace isn't what it was.
