The Worst Band in the World

Might be controversial but

Manic street preachers

For me as well.

you are a band not a political movement.

So what you're saying is that band can't sing about politics, even ignoring they sing about much more than politics?

There is no way that a band that can churn out songs such as Stay Beautiful Motown Junk, You Love Us, Little Baby Nothing, Faster etc etc etc can be anywhere near the worst band ever thread.

I'd argue they're one of the greatest British bands of all time personally, even accounting for the mid-90's output like Everything Must Go which left me somewhat cold.

Having a little laugh to myself on how this thread how this thread has panned out. :ROFLMAO:
To me, it's a shame 10cc have become kind of forgotten over the years.
Forgotten? Saw them at the Town Hall last year, and the place was full. Graham Gouldman was the only original member on stage. A great nostalgia trip, if lacking in passion - a bit like seeing a tribute band.

I'd never heard of Brother before. I wish it had stayed that way.

One band I can think of as being the worst I've ever witnessed is Marksman. They supported U2 at Roundhay in 1993 and were absolute F***ing *****.

AC/DC : with the geordie singer who sounds like he’s in terrible pain when he ‘sings’
Iron Maiden : Utterly ridiculous
Bon Jovi : Toe curling rubbish
Texas : Secretary rock
Brian Adams : See Texas
Sting : Why does he still sing in that half yank half Jamaican accent?
Eric Clapton : Boring racist pretend blues man
The Smiths : Great at the time but unlistenable now - the singing is just terrible.

Loads more tbc

I wasnt a fan of Everything must go, but the one after This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours is my favourite of theirs.

So you don’t like the only good stuff they ever did? Lol

Would have to think long and hard to feel I'd really done this question justice, but given its nature, why would I bother?

Off the very top of my shiny head, Pearl Jam vs Elbow. Decide for yourselves.
Pearl Jam win - shocking band who would possibly be half decent if the singer wasnt so tuneless

followed by The Human League - Don't you want me (I do love them, but this track is massively overplayed and they've done far better).
This, this, this, this.

See also 'Ever fallen in love?' by the Buzzcocks, and various others by various other bands whose oeuvre is far better than their 'favourite' song.

Saw The Enid at the Coatham Bowl and they were terrible. Also walked out of Kraftwerk at the Town Hall. One of the most boring shows I have ever been to.

The worst band ever headlined the Eston music festival with Aswad in the 70's. They were called
Hoof Hearted and led with their opener called Almost sh#t my pants.
Classic.

There are live versions of Second SItting for the Last Supper and Waterfall available on some compilation discs which I think are quite good. I also have a laugh at The Hospital Song which I bet never gets played on any radio station!!
