The world cup

International football is generally a chess match, fairly slow and dull. But there has been some great moments of drama. The constant supply of giant killing has been great:

Argentina 1-2 Saudi Arabia
Germany 1-2 Japan
Belgium 0-2 Morocco
Tunisia 1-0 France
Australia 1-0 Denmark
Japan 2-1 Spain
South Korea 2-1 Portugal

Argentina, Spain and Croatia squeaking through; Denmark, Germany, Uruguay and Belgium going home. Shows how well England have done to get through with little drama, unbeaten, with most goals scored and best goal difference unless Brazil go goal crazy tonight.
 
As I said before the tournament there really is nothing like a World Cup of cup we have to wait 4 years for it but when it comes it’s always worth it.

Some great match ups in the second round as well.

No one has got 9 points in their group yet. Brazil may well do it now, but I don't think this has ever happened before.

Only Qatar were mathematicaly out after the 2nd round of matches, which has also helped keep it spicy.

So no one got 9 and we have another upset with Brazil losing to Cameroon. So Argentina, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Denmark, Brazil and Portugal all lost a group game. We are the only fancied nation that is unbeaten.

We qualified comfortably, scoring the joint most goals with Spain, and having the best goal difference! I don't know if we've ever done that before.
