The Bangles were on as well but I didn't want to mention them
I got offered free tickets but had made other plans so couldn’t go.
Last saw them in the 80’s - first time around the time of the Pagan Place album and second time on the Fisherman’s Blues Tour at the City Hall.
Not a fan of much of the newer stuff (well anything from 2000 onwards) but the early stuff I love. Did they play much from Pagan Place/This is the Sea/Fisherman’s Blues?
I think as pricing goes these days, the Globe tickets seem largely par for the course. Is it really that overpriced for a large venue? It's a long time since I thought £25 was the going rate for a gig of a known band.
I did see Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz, stereophonics, 3 colours red & the black crowes at Wembley for £25 but that was like summer 1999. I'm seeing a small American band in london and they're £25 a ticket. Human league later in the year are £45 each I think
That’s more old stuff than I thought they would play, feel sad I missed it now. They did.
Set list here
The second half of the gig was proper rockin versions, the first half they played around with the original album versions. I thought This Is The Sea was wonderful, even better than Tom Jones recent version.
Up until 90s, concert tickets were fairly cheap to try and promote a new album. Now though the big bands must make more money from touring than they do from record (thats my age showing) sales! Is it really that overpriced for a large venue? Even if I’d just seen the last 4 songs I’d have been happy.
They missed a few out that especially my daughter was hoping for but I really liked the newish stuff, like you lefty I was reluctant paying the money after kubix, twistarella and Paul Heaton on the Monday but really glad I went.
I think we must, were you with your wife?We must know each other by sight I guess, maybe even chatted, without realising who each of us are on here.
There are a few Westgarth regulars I am still only on nodding terms terms with. Mind you, there are a few I speak to and don't know their actual names even.

Ah, there's a fella who I see at gigs and games thought it might be youNo, she'd cramp my style.
