Unconvincing win for Sheffield against a very poor Reading team. Don't give up hope, Sheffield have far more difficult games than this to come.

Luton and Sunderland for them, then no league games until Norwich away in April. Swansea, Stoke, Preston and Huddersfield for us. I still feel we could be right on them again after that run of games, and there game in hand will be West Brom this time!
 
O well hopefully ndiaye is injured and they lose their next two. If they do and we win the 3 games next week we are in 2nd going into the international break as Sheffield have the cup game a week on Saturday

If they lose on Saturday and we win the gap is 4 points with 10 games to go.

There's still a decent chance.

They've not played well in a long time, and just laboured past an awful Reading side and lost the goalscorer to injury.

I still think the most likely outcome is them clinging to that automatic spot, but they are wobbling massively.
 
Sheff itd grinding wins. Can see 2 1-0 wins vs luton and the mackems coming. Probs go back to 4 point gap when theyre in fa cup vs blackburn and theyll have another game in hand. But still be o games left by then. They could have 2 more games in fa cup if draw is kind.

They've lost 3 of the last 5.
 
Someone said we'll probably need 33 points (11 wins from 11) above. That would assume that Sheffield United get 24 pts from their 11 remaining games.
Of the 2 scenarios I know which one looks more likely, especially given our ability to string wins together after a defeat.
 
If they can grind out 1-0 wins to the end d of the season then all credit to them.
They will deserve to go up.
We are a joy to watch now but we werent at the start of the season.
Sheffield United have been consistent all season.
But we are playing beautiful football now.
I'm just grateful for that.

this was the first of 6 easier games that you would expect a promotion chasing side to win. They didn't fall this time, but they have another 5 which looking at tonight will be tight affairs, plus they have 6 tough games that could cost them points if they play like this.

Definitely far from over.
 
Still time (just about). At least the gap is 7 not 10 points. If they do go up, they are coming straight back down, unless they get a whole new team. Boro would add much more to the premier league.

You see it whenever there's VAR in use and, as the VAR full protocol document states:

a defender who encroached prevents an attacker playing or being able to play the ball in a situation where a goal might be scored

We don’t know that in fairness (re how we’d fair in the PL). Look at the Brighton game.
