* The Unofficial "Official" "Wear-Tees Derby: Sunlun v Boro Match-Day Thread *

Miles ahead technically 😊😊😊😊

Very limited team struggled with our movement up front due to a rather pedestrian centre back pairing, only tactic is get the ball to Giles who then hoofs it up top for that woeful striker to win in the air and hope Chubby & Forrs pick up the scrapsπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
You`ve beaten us at your place for the first time since 2008 [15 years], so your elation is understandable.
Long way to go. Lets see what happens by the end of the season.

I trust you now feel you`ve resolved your issues after your 1-3 reverse against Swansea last time out?(y)

Congratulations on winning the derby game (which isn't a derby).

Let's see where both clubs finish come the end of the season.

Thoughts from afar. Never a penalty.
If we are to persist in playing that formation then Crooks is not good enough and we need to bring someone in. Otherwise, play a different formation.

Need to bounce back vs watford but not confident. Dont think we have a good record vs watford at all. Today was just 3 points lost...same as when we lost to burnley. Id rather have last laufh and pip sunlun to playoff spot at the end of the season.

It’s time for us to end their run against us, they have some very good players but they aren’t a very good side at this level.

15 years since they last beat us at their home ground.
We`ve only lost three in 12 league games under Michael Carrick`s tenure:

* Preston - in the final minute of injury time. His first match in charge.
* Burnley - who have won 18 games and lost only 2 all season
* Today.

Lets not lose perspective.

Under three months ago - 29th October 2022 - Michael Carrick had only just found time to take his coat off.
We were 21st on goals scored. We had the same squad as today - who couldnt string a pass together - let alone a win.
Since then, we have climbed into the top 6. One defeat in battle doesnt mean we`ve lost the war.
We regroup, reorg and go again (y)

You do realise that you change the names and you've just described exactly your game plan - only bit you've missed out is the woeful striker chucking himself to the ground for a penalty
Oh dear don’t be bitter you got beat by a side with lots of pace energy and movement a pass success rate of 90% who play football on the floor

tells me have the best striker in the league but already knew that nearly a goal a game for the highlands Haarland πŸ‘

I don't feel bitter about the result at all. I feel privileged to have seen it. Sunderland beating the Boro is about as rare as the transit of Venus. Whilst it's disappointing to drop three points it's more than made up for by being able to witness such a rare piece of history. The next one will be in 2063.

We have a minority of fans who don’t understand football, a bit like the majority of posters on here πŸ˜‚
Some more than others.
You must keep in touch more often.
You could be our "foreign correspondent" - from SR5 [lyke].
A bit like File on Four.
You could give us a fans-eye-view on how your team are coping and adapting to life in the Championship - it might even be considered for one of our match-day threads.
Good luck away at Millwall
