* The Unofficial "Official" "Wear-Tees Derby: Sunlun v Boro Match-Day Thread *

If he’s that good he’d be starting over the carthorse that is Crooks. I’d much rather develop a player like Hoppe than develop a Villa player
But then you’d only be slagging Hoppe off every time he doesn’t play like Messi!

We have to know our place.. teams below us develop our players and we develop players of teams above us. All teams do it.

At least give the lad a chance to play a few games before writing him off.. and let’s hope he scores the winner at Wembley

Aaaannnndddd, the board has reverted to its worst version again after today.

I know its a massive disappointment to lose today, but we were always going to have a more difficult period under Carrick, never mind a single defeat, let's have a little bit of perspective - we're still in the top 6 and I'd back us to finish there too.

People are understandably frustrated by the result, (we were poor and got what we deserved) but no doubt tomorrow they will calm down by tomorrow.

Some of the texts being read out on Radio Tees are just stupid.

I think over 90 minutes Archer would have caused old man Baath, and that portly looking farmers boy who partnered him more problems than Crooks did today.

Here we go with folks who want to moan. It comes around after every defeat. It's not even worth engaging with. Unfortunately the reasonable debate gets lost.
The game was decided on the penalty and sending off, both of which could have gone either way.

I thought Archer looked bright when he came on and wouldn't be surprised to see him in ahead of Forss next week.

Fry will be a miss.

Steffen didn't cover himself in glory today, he didn't at Burnley either but he's still not an issue for me. He's essential to the way we play (out from the back) so we have to just forget about today's performance

People are frustrated because we are miles ahead technically and lost . Unfortunately the Boro team didn't match their effort or attitude they played the game like a cup game or a derby match we played it like a meaningless friendly. I still have strong reservations about this team being physically strong enough to get out of this division, when the going gets tough and it's midfield battle we are far too timid in the tackle. They were quicker to win the second ball all over the park. That's not acceptable

We’ve seen how this team responds when it gets a bit tough in the past. Hopefully Carrick has more ideas how to get a tune out of some of them in those situations than Wilder or Warnock did.

I think we were very unlucky with the penalty and sending off.
I wonder if there will be an appeal.
Regardless of that the better team still won.
Gutted as I am to lose to Sunderland a little bit of me is pleased for Mr Mowbray.
We should have never replaced him with Karanka in my opinion (braced and ready 😀)
Game today its done and we can't change history.
It's what we do against Watford that matters now.

Steffen is a total liability.

He gifted them a 1v1 first half

He spilt the simple save which they put in (thankfully offside)

He could have made Fry’s life much easier for the penalty by coming out and putting that one in the stand.

Miles ahead technically 😊😊😊😊

Very limited team struggled with our movement up front due to a rather pedestrian centre back pairing, only tactic is get the ball to Giles who then hoofs it up top for that woeful striker to win in the air and hope Chubby & Forrs pick up the scraps😂😂😂😂😂😂

Totally agree but our keeper.
Not for me like….
Terrible decision first half and for the sending off. Where the fcuk was Steffen ?
I mean….if he’d been out and smothered Stewart Shyte first touch then the ref would’ve waved any appeal away
Steffen got fry sent off with his indecisive thinking
Steffen is a barrier to promotion and certainly not a conduit!!!
He's terrible

Need to bounce back vs watford but not confident. Dont think we have a good record vs watford at all. Today was just 3 points lost...same as when we lost to burnley. Id rather have last laufh and pip sunlun to playoff spot at the end of the season.

You do realise that you change the names and you've just described exactly your game plan - only bit you've missed out is the woeful striker chucking himself to the ground for a penalty
