* The Unofficial "Official" Huddersfield V Boro Matchday Thread and Programme *

3 games this week. We could arguably have won all 3..... Definitely against PNE.

I doubt we can do anything about fitness in a week like this. I imagine this free week will be some real hardcore coaching.

We've looked far better in 45-60 min spells already. The press high up the pitch and player clearly having a bit more freedom to go forward. The possession stats have massively improved to above 50%+ (far more than under Warnock). This is in a week preparing for 3 games.

Sidenote..... I think Spence will be amazing in this high press 3-5-3
True but we looked fitter every game. Energy levels were falling off a cliff about 60 mins but we still had decent movement in and off the ball upto about 75 minutes. Positively though conentration was there for thefull game and goal was Hernandez' fault. I like Spence, talented lad but Jones looks more the finished article and has been probably the biggest positive of the season. Good competition but wouldnt swap Spence for Jones

Dominic Shaw always gives a balanced view.
The result and performance says it all.
Just that extra time OG. mmmm
[Based on his time here, anyone else think Hernandez will be heading back to Norwich?]

One 9, three 8s and plenty of praise for others in Middlesbrough ratings at Huddersfield

Luke Daniels - 6

Had nothing to do in the first half. Couple of good high gathers in the second half. Will be disappointed by late goal.

Isaiah Jones - 8

A threat from the off. His energy and pace terrified the home side. Brilliant vision for opener. Outstanding display.

Anfernee Dijksteel - 7

Came in and took his chance. Looked comfy stepping out of the defence with the ball. Disciplined.

Sol Bamba - 7

Controlled and comfortable. Deserved a clean sheet.

Paddy McNair - 7

Assured and classy.

Marc Bola - 7

Always an option on the left. Looks to be enjoying life under Wilder.

Jonny Howson - 8

Led by example. Controlled the game. Superb driving run to set Jones away for first goal and set Boro on their way to victory. Thriving under Wilder.

Marcus Tavernier - 7

As energetic and tireless as ever, got into promising positions in the box.

Matt Crooks - 8

Dominant in the midfield. A superb through-ball for Watmore's second.

Duncan Watmore - 9

An outstanding display. Huddersfield simply had no answers to Watmore's movement. Two brilliant first half goals and had a hand in a number of chances.

Andraz Sporar - 7

Excellent link-up with Watmore. The pair have quickly established a superb pairing under Wilder. Clever movement, always showing for the midfield.

Subs:

Hernandez (for Watmore, 77): Switched off for Huddersfield goal. 5

Ikpeazu (for Jones 90): N/A
