* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Stoke [09/24] Match-Day Thread *

Given the continued persistence of injury problems for well over a year now, I would like to see journalists ask the club the following questions:

• why is the injury rate at the club higher than at other clubs? (I’ve not done a full analysis but this seems like a reasonable assumption)

• why has the injury rate been consistently high for over a year?

• what steps have been taken to mitigate the risk?

• what is the mindset of the players? Are they fully committed to the football club or do they take any small opportunity to miss games?

These questions must be asked and answered. At this point, the paying crowd deserve answers. The analogy isn’t perfect, but imagine going to watch a play and week after week instead of seeing Judi Dench they sub in the understudy! You’d stop going or ask for your money back.

Have they ever explained why we get so many injuries? It was beyond a joke a long, long time ago and is having a massive effect on our results.
We barely get the same team on the pitch two games in a row.
It is not just bad luck. We clearly have a serious problem.

I an utterly demoralised by these injuries. It can't be bad luck. I said the most important thing we had to do in the summer was get to the bottom of and fix the underlying cause of the injuries and we clearly have not.

Season is pretty much over if we are playing with half a squad or less for all of it. It is pathetic.

I would say that Middlesbrough FC, being a second tier professional football club, would know how to run the club without the need to resort to advice from unqualified fans with absolutely no background or experience in the professional game.

Cool.

So when does that start?

You might be right. And yet the evidence suggests a problem not experienced to such a degree at other professional football clubs.

And if the club wants to have people pay money to them, they are entitled to ask questions. They’re also entitled not to answer, and people are then entitled to withdraw their money.

McGree back in is a big positive.
Obviously looks a bit weak at the back but front 4 looks stronger than it has done.

Hopefully Lath gets firing.
Knew Mcgree and doak would get their chance but Azaz got lucky with the Conway injury because I reckon Conway would have started

Gutted about Clarke though! And WTF. RVB on the bench and we don’t have 2 centre backs fit ! Ayling is the latest square peg in a round hole by Carrick!!!

It'll be the same Chemical Ali (oops - Comical Ali, sorry!) propaganda that we get whenever people complain about the club shop. Everything is totally fine, just ignore the evidence of your own eyes and wait for absolutely nothing to change.

Glad to see Riley back, but the defence doesn’t fill me with confidence. If RVB was fit surely he would be in the team, looks like he’s being reintroduced to the group😂
Reintroducing to the group

I mean what the absolute fcuk ????!!!!

Carrick coming out with stuff McLaren used to say!

Also, let’s extrapolate this point further. I take it I’m not allowed to comment on players performance, per the rules you’ve set out?

I'm missing out on all these injuries . So want one now. How do I get one please? Do I visit the Rockcliffe area and hang one of my legs over the boundary chain/entrance line then wait 15 seconds for a crocked leg ? Is that how it works ? :(

9 subs is too many.
We've already got 3 x u21 players on the bench who didn't play for the U21s yesterday. McCabe, Hunt and McCormick. Realistically there's no chance of a 4th u21 getting on the pitch so they might as well play for the u21s.

Just as well naming a senior who's not far away
