* The unofficial "Official" Boro v Sheffield United Match-day Thread *

I only saw the game from the 55th minute and couldn't undestand what the angst was all about. I thought we were the better team. SHeff keeperr had to make a couple of saves, we hit the woodwork and they never really made a chance, own goal aside.
And their Board thinks they were lucky

We’ve played three teams who last season pushed for promotion and will be hoping to there or there about this season. Would have liked more than 2 points but I’m not disappointed. All three will beat the majority of teams in this league.
Not sure QPR will to be honest but if we’d gone with the right starting 11 from the off we would never have lost that game.

Exciting game, could have lost it and could have won it. Think he needs to get a settled back three. Fry seems to be carrying a knock? McNair has to play at the back. Mowatt looks a good addition.

The two sides we've played at home are decent. So a difficult start.

Then again now back to back away games at Stoke and Reading. So a home win would have been nice.

I fully expect Mowett to replace Mcgree in the coming weeks. He slotted in well in his little cameo. Tried to play some difficult probing passes rather than the simple option 👍

Great game, lots of plus points as well as negatives. Our midfield looked decent today. I thought that CW made the right subs at the right time. Fry still not ready it seems. They were too physical for us although you could say Mariner let them do that. Akpom is going to thrive in this system.

McGree looks v lightweight, reminds me of Forshaw when he first came so maybe he'll toughen up
He certainly is lightweight - disappointing because he looked like he might be decent at times last season. I don’t really see him being a starter when we get another quality midfielder signed up. Got into some good positions second half but his shooting and final pass were just awful

We have had a tough start and dealt a massive loss by losing Tav on the eve of the season, I’m hopeful that once the window closes and we have a couple if not more in, the team will start to bed.

Not a bad result today against a team I feel will be up there and will hammer a few teams.

Just posted elsewhere:

Chris wilder post-match on BBC Tees:

It was a rip-roaring affair - "that sums it up".
"I thought we showed tremendous balls"
"I want it to be edgy"
"I want it to be spicy".
"Stick your chest out and have a go at each other"
"In the last ten minutes we were still going for it"
"There`s no sitting back for the draw"
"We should have won it"
"We were going for the jugular"

Chuuuuuuba:
"For him to come back into the group .......its his job to convince me and he`s done enough.
He sees his medium and long-term future here.
We had to drag him off and that attitudes good enough for me".
Commendations enough from the gaffa.(y)

I enjoyed that.
Really pleased for Chuba Akpom.
I never doubted his attitude. But I did question his ability.
Pleased to see I was wrong.
Dare I say it. Neil was right.
All credit to Sheffield United who will be happy to take a point from that.
Lots and lots of football still to play this season.
And a world cup.
Good Times ahead.
