* The Unofficial "Official" Boro v Huddersfield Match-Day Thread *

I thought that was absolute garbage. Another game where their keeper doesn’t have to make a save for the entire second half. Rubbish!

I think Leo was told not to lose the match with that starting line up,before realising that could have been an easy win. Mind you we are still after many years, a very unbalanced squad.

Utterly boring. I think there's complete apathy right now and that was evident from the atmosphere around the ground today.

The side to side obsession was back, which was peculiar after winning 4-1 midweek. Where was the positive running through the middle?

I'm not one to have a pop at players, but Jones and Mowatt were pathetic today, and they have been all season.

Well Jones certainly wasn’t pathetic 3 days ago. Can’t really argue re Mowatt.

So negative - we need defenders who are not afraid to carry the ball forward and draw teams out. The sideways passing allows teams to just pack in front of us till we hoof it and lose possession. The midfield constantly pass backwards - only Hackney receives the ball on the half turn. Jones was awful today. I don’t think he knows what he is supposed to do? How he didn’t get subbed I don’t know. We have had this negative mentality a long time now through a succession on managers. I hope it s Carrick and his team that come in and we lose all the coaches who buy into this backwards sideways philosophy. Really dull again today. It comes to something when fans walking home are content to say , well at least we didn’t get beat. New broom please

As stated I lost my stream at half time (lucky me reading these comments) but always being a positive guy…a point on the board / not a loss (for no other reason than Leo’s last match and one at home) BUT hopefully now if it is to be Carrick then hopefully he does bring Plelan and Meulensteen as mooted into the Championship with all of their wealth of experience (as opposed to the aforementioned Bruce and O’Shea) and then games like today are beyond dead and buried by half time. As always…UTFB!!! (But at the same time come on lads…that should have been a very very easy 3 points today 👎🏻)

Almost torcherous to watch... an unbalanced side, mistake prone, easy to defend and technically nowhere near good enough in final third.
Total over emphasis on right side attacking through Jones. We didn’t seem interested in exploiting them from the left side. What’s happened with those contributions we used to get from Giles?
Hackney should be a starter.

If anyone was pathetic in midfield it was McNair not Mowatt

Was it a penalty for the contact on Watmore first half?

Looked like one to me but I was on the half way line.

Not a penalty for me. I was right behind it in the East Stand and he went down too easily. Not a dive but not a foul for me.

Replays on tv showed Watmores foot was kicked, but he had over hit the ball, maybe that influenced the refs decision not to give it.

I wonder if the Arc Angel Gabriel and the Fairy Godmother with her Magic Wand could do anything with that squad?
Some of those players - have played under as many as 6 different Managers in almost 5 years.
If we include Warnock up to his departure on 6th November 2021, most of our players have played under three different managers [including caretakers] in less than 12 months!
There is no "continuity". No "golden thread", just the mashed up remains of many different "teams".
We have seen ever - revolving doors in recent seasons [both in players and Managers] with no human glue or purpose to hold the spine of a team together.
Its a perplexing conundrum as to how yet another human "manager" will make any difference to that squad - more so than any other managers?
You can keep promising "jam tomorrow" until tomorrow never comes.
Players must be numbed by the continuos buzz and noise of new in-comers.
When you`ve witnessed one "messiah" you`ve witnessed them all.
At the moment, we await the next "Messiah" - but he will have to be a miracle worker - if he`s to get anything out of the Boro "squad".
