* The unofficial "Official" Boro v Barnsley match-day thread *

Payero said it all with his performance.
Havent read Warnocks comments yet, but I dont suppose they matter.(y)
well I've seen comments about fans on messageboards will disappear for a couple of weeks.

We beat two of the worst teams in the league, on the worst form, and we beat them in our own ground. I would expect nothing less than that. I don't mean that in an arrogant way, I just feel our squad is better than losing to two of the worst teams., regardless who the manager is.

Saturday is a tougher test, although Cardiff are poor, it's away from home. We haven't clicked away yet with 1 win in 6, looks like we will be another player down with Sporar going off early. So it's a challenge.

We've better the last two games, but that doesn't forgive our appalling performances back to January. In fact these two performances were littered with mistakes and we allowed Barnsley to out possession us, which is insane when you look at their stats. Better teams would create chances with that amount of possession. So Warnock, still a lot more to prove, I'd still sack you in the morning were it my choice

Morning Mart.

I concur with many of your sentiments.
6 points from 6 looks good in a league table, but [I will repeat what Ive posted previously] - its the absence of "key" players which has been good for the team - because they have risen to the challenge.

That is in-spite of Neil Warnock, not because of him.
The limited options has actually forced his hand in many ways - because his choices are limited.
Players like Payero, Crooks, Sporar and Coburn have shown what they are good at.
Im glad weve had a "crisis".

But the underlying thread points to unresolved issues in the squad and "Management" at the club.
For now, the last two results paper over the cracks.
To those players who play well then find themselves dropped next match, I would say - keep your head - keep on course and seek support from those team-mates willing to help.

There are clear favourites which the Manager appears to lavish praise on - to the point of being a little sickly, which is not always good for all the squad.

Youngsters, in particular, may find it a challenge to stand up to a man who clearly values himself.
We often hear more about him and his demeaning players in public - but it doesnt get the best out of all players.

Im sure that the many on here want the lads to win for the sake of our club - The Boro - not particularly for the Manager: Managers come and go like buses. We have followed the "roller-coaster" [A nod to Anthony Vickers] for years - we`ve seen the good the bad and the ugly.

If anything, the last two games have been a respite from very poor inconsistent performances. At the time of a "crisis" (?). We need the crisis to continue because we need a settled side.

Just a side note: I hope Peltier`s booking last night isnt the start of his latest collection. Discipline is key at this time - and someone with Peltiers experience knows better.
