Trending on Twitter that season 1 is off to a flyer.
I can just imagine if it was remade using the current government, Peter Capaldi would say something along the lines of.......You couldn't make The Thick Of It nowadays, real life is just too absurd/disgusting.
It's refreshing to see a politician answering questions at least, even if he is crazily out of his depth, has no knowledge, tact or understanding. I liked his explanations of the very hard tests he had recently passed to assess his cognition. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so scary.
There is no hope for America. They have too many people that have spent too long "learning" that they live in the greatest country in the world and that individualism is the only thing that matters. I feel sorry for anyone over there with any intelligence, it must be difficult having to live among so many scarily unenlightened individuals.
Unfortunately, it's only too real. Broadcast on HBO last night.I might come across as a bit of a Rodney plonker here, but is that actually real or just a very cleverly edited pastiche?

I'd say a choice between Trump and Biden is a better option than between Boris Johnson and Corbyn. At least you can be sure Biden will appoint competent people to run the country for him.I get why some voted for him originally. When the democrats put forward a candidate like Clinton for many it was an opportunity to give the establishment a massive FU, "not good enough" message. The cost of that protest was far too high of course, but much easier to say with hindsight. It's not even made a jot of difference has it?
You'd think they might have learnt a lesson but here comes Biden. Christ. The lesser of two evils by far obviously but still not much of a choice. I'd be frustrated as hell as an American. Probably even more so than I am with the circus that's currently in operation here.
As for Trump's base. Heaven help us as a society. Their mindset is so alien to me I can barely begin to comprehend the thought process they must go through to get to the point where they're hanging off the every word of someone who is so blatantly thick as mince combined with clear psychological issues.
. Boris is many things but he’s an educated man.

Hillary not going to philly was such a stupid thing to do it was such a small margin but her lack of presence in the so called rust belt ultimately cost her.I didn't really like her but Clinton won the popular vote by 3m despite widespread voter suppression in largely black areas and around 2m discarded votes (hanging chads etc).
But Trump won:
- Michigan by 11k votes (0.2%) & got all 16 electoral college votes
- Wisconsin by 23k votes (0.7%) & got all 10 electoral college votes
- Pennsylvania by 44k votes (0.7%) & got all 20 electoral college votes
That (and the Republican heartland) was enough to carry him.
