I watch it last week, thought it was great. Amusing in parts and outrageous in others. I thought the judge was funny, for all the wrong reasons.
the judge was amusing but if you read up on the true facts of what the judge did the film was an accurate reflection. Needless to say his contempt of court sentences even for the defence attorney were quickly overturned. However he continued to sit as a judge until everybody realised he was senile and was relieved of his duties.I watch it last week, thought it was great. Amusing in parts and outrageous in others. there is something in the deep dark recess of my mind that says I have heard that story before but not sure how or where I read it. it SBC character Abbi that wrote the bookSalford the bit that caught my eye was the protester who went on to write a best selling book, only they don't know how many are in circulation because the book was called "Steal this book". Pure genius.
Good article on David Dellinger here - written on his death in 2004. Certainly he was being manhandled out of the court room where he broke free from the officials to comfort his watching children who were crying at seeing him being treated that way.does anyone know if the pacifist really punched the court bailiff or not, to get someone like that so riled up to go against everything they stand for truly shows how messed up that case was.
the one stand out funny bit is when their solicitor says "you're a pacifistic and say out world war two even I want to punch you"
