Pears was playing better before we signed him.
He's been at fault for plenty of goals since then, though he was excellent against Leeds, and Stojanovic can't even take Meijas' place on the bench.

It was a bizarre signing at the time, and it's only got weirder.
Spending £1m on a back up to a back up keeper, when money is in very short supply.

It's ok Phil Tallentire said it's a masterstroke and in keeping with Boros new strategy of buying cheap and selling on. We will sell him for millions apparently.

It is a bizarre situation though, blow all of your January transfer budget on a player who is yet to make the squad. Pears has done well, but he should have done better with both goals on Monday. I don't think that will be enough for Woodgate to make a change, but even if he does it looks like Meijas is next in line.
