The Stranger - Netflix

Started watching this last night, smashed through first 4 episodes. Pretty decent watch. And filmed around Manchester so recognise lots of the locations.

I enjoyed it but I have to say I noticed that some of the acting wasn’t very good compared to a lot of other stuff, in particular the kids. There’s a lot of things that didn’t make sense if you think too much about it too, I liked the story though, watched it all in a few days.

Watched it over 2 nights, thoroughly enjoyed it

Yes agree, if you thought about it it wouldnt make sense but TBH you could say that about any program

Siobhan Finneran, is a good actress too

I managed to get to half way through the second episode before giving up.

The main bloke with the beard is a terrible actor. Once I'd tuned into that fact, I just couldn't watch it.

Lots of people seem to really like it though.

I actually thought the cast and acting were quite good with the exception of the main guy who I didn't think was great. Thought it was ok.

Had the making of something good, but every time the kids were in it just reminded me of something out of Tracy Beaker. Wasn't impressed.

Really enjoyed it. ‘The bloke with the beard’ was a comedian and you may remember his Dennis Pennis character from a few decades ago. Not sure how he keeps getting acting parts as he is poor

The bloke with the beard I was talking about is Richard Armitage playing Adam Price.

Paul Kaye (Dennis Pennis) is in it too. I quite liked him back in the day.

If you like this, give Safe and The Five a go. They’re both much better and by the same writer (Harlan Coben).

Agreed that it was enjoyable and binge worthy, but some awful acting and more holes in it than a sieve.

A much better watch on Netflix is “You”.

TBH if I had started watching one episode at a time I probably wouldn't have bothered to go back to it after Episode 1. But binge watching kind of keeps up the momentum. A bit silly. Ok but not great is my summation of it all.

Worth a watch, as is the other Harlen Coben adaptation, Safe.

Much better stuff on Netflix than those though.

Not a drama, but Th Mind of Aaron Hernandez is a fantastic watch

Yes I thought the Aaron Hernandez doc was decent. I find that I need to watch more upbeat stuff at the moment because I think I went through a phase of watching a lot of docs about killers and that kind of thing and it leaves you feeling a bit somber sometimes. Netflix seems to specialize in serial killers.
