I didn’t know anything about this till I saw it mentioned in the what happens when you die thread. Unbelievable story, yet believable!

I do love stuff like this. Gets your hairs standing up on end.

Strange but True used to be a strong favourite. Might have to revisit it.

A bit like ancient aliens where it's generally nonsense but still suckers me in to watch it in the hope that something is true/ resonates.

Know exactly what you mean!

It’s long fascinated me this story- freaks me out when you see a picture of the pilot how similar they look in the face.
The guy that killed Carl is one of the small number of people who have been given a whole of life term meaning he will never be released from prison.
He challenged the ruling on the basis it contravenes his human rights - go figure!

Really odd how close he was murdered to the German pilots body.. did both body’s need to be close for something spiritual to happen? Crazy!
Can’t believe I didn’t know of this story.
It must’ve been a frenzied attack. Very sad.

When were the original crew members buried?
Thornaby.
“The Dornier's three other crew were buried in Thornaby after the crash in 1942, but Richter was not laid to rest alongside his colleagues until the plane was 'rediscovered' 55 years later by water board workers.”

So the whole thing can be pretty much explained if the lad had seen a local news item that mentioned it when he was very young and imaginative.

Yep, as long he could remember it was a Messerschmitt bomber (not a well known term, especially for a young boy from Teesside, I’d struggle after a couple of beers!), yet to be discovered till after his death. Be able to draw all the controls and dials in the cockpit and explain what they do. Point out inaccuracies in films, regarding the inform.
He began talking of such things from age 3. That’s one hell of an imagination.

How do you explain the plane he crashed in was a Dornier?

How do you explain he was a turret gunner, not a pilot?

How do you explain barrage balloons are quite a bit different to windows?

Messerschmidt's are the most talked about German plane. That's why it got into his brain. Kids pick up all kinds of things parents don't pay attention to.

He also described the airbase he was based at- It was unusual in that the washrooms had a central circular sink with multiple taps on it- no other German base had that- It is the mundane things that made it believable.

For other cases of reincarnation there is the story of a pair of twins in Hexham who were frightened whenever they went near a certain school because they were killed there. They were 3 years old when they told their parents they were hit by a large black car outside the school gates. It turns out that the parents of these twins had a pair of twins previously who were killed by a large black car just outside the school gates some years earlier.

There is the case of an American boy who describes his plane being shot down by the Japanese and being killed. His parents found veterans of the aircraft carrier he was flying from and took their son to meet them. They were convinced that this boy was the reincarnation of the pilot after speaking to him. The boy not only described his aircraft, controls, weapons etc he described the aircraft carrier and gave names of some of the crew. This would have been in the 1990's

There is the case of a woman in Leicestershire who claimed she had lived in Ireland in the 1930's. She described where she lived and the fact that she used to row a boat on a lake. She had several sons. After some investigation a surviving son was found.
He took one look at the woman and said it was his mother. Everything she described checked out, The cottage where they lived, the vegetable garden that they had, the fact that her husband had died when the boys were young. And she used to row a boat across the lake everyday to take her son to school.

There is the case of a boy born in Glasgow wanting to go home to his island. He pestered and pestered his parents, describing the island, his house where he lived and his sister. and the fact that aircraft landed on the beach. This made it easy to identify Barra whose airport is literally the beach.
Eventually his parents took him to Barra and were astounded to see a house that matched his description exactly.

There is the case in the 1920's a child actor being filmed with a manual film camera where the operator had to wind a handle continuously for it to work. The actor suddenly started to scream a the cameraman to stop it because this was how he was killed in the war.

A man claiming to be the reincarnation of a British soldier wounded in the Crimean war. The soldier was wounded in the hand and was discharged from the army. The only work he could find was as a watchman at Millwall dock.. He drowned in the dock.
The man who claimed to be that sergeant was able to describe the battle and the bullet wound in the hand. When asked what battle it was he said "the quarries". This particular battle is not well known and it took a lot of research to find out about it.
There was a body found in Millwall dock in 1885. It was of a watchman who had served in the Crimean war. His name was Rouen (SP). Army records show that a sergeant Rouen was wounded at The Battle of the Quarries and was honourably discharged
I could go on- there are so many instances of it that actually do check out on investigation. The cases in Ian Stevensons book are particularly interesting because they involve children in Asian countries where reincarnation is believed in and children who claim to be reincarnated are often taken to the place where they claimed to have lived-
There is even a record of a murderer being found because of his re incarnated victims evidence.

Great thread this. I was explaining the case of Carl Edon to the wife earlier as she’d never heard of it, and I’ve since spent the last few hours reading up and watching stuff 🤣
