The Spence mystery.

From hints I have read about him he may have an attitude problem. I seem to remember reading something like that when he first signed for us.

Plus I think there have been a few references to this issue since then.

Perhaps Warnock has decided he is not worth the grief he might be causing? It is not like he is some who is so good he must play every week.

Because Forest
Why will he get more time at Forest?
Because Forest are dire and in need of a right back. I live down here and my mates are livid at the start of the season. They signed two RBs on deadline day and he has as good a chance as any to get in the team.

Morsy was disruptive and now the rumour goes that Spence was disruptive? Is that the standard reason that people want to believe for us loaning and selling players these days.

The only thing I remember reading about Morsy is that he used to kick the crap out of anyone and everyone in training. I remember a quote from Warnock saying that he was putting Payero on the same side as Morsy in every training game. To protect Payero.

I think it's fairly obvious that Spence had issues with his application and concentration, the last two managers have both said so.

Not sure about Morsy, there are rumours about a clash over his refusal to have the covid vaccine and whilst that may have contributed to his exit I think the more plausible and obvious explanation is that we've simply traded him for a better player.

IIRC wasn't it Spence who re-tweeted Assombalonga's photo looking a picture of health when Warnock explained Assombaloga's omission from the team due to illness/injury? I suspect that Warnock has had enough. If so, he has protected any resale value and removed a disruptive influence from the dressing room as he sees it.

He couldn’t see a way into the Fulham team past the Sessegnon brothers, he saw Middlesbrough as a fast track to first team football. Woodgate dropped him soon after he’d signed a new contract along with some comment about him having to work hard and that he hadn’t made it yet. Did he miss a few games? Comments from Warnock along the lines of he could be non league or premier league.. but that will be down to his attitude/approach.

Dijksteel hit the ground running at right back and with Warnock’s preference for ‘proper defenders’ his chances as a right wing back were limited. He saw both Spence and Coulson more suited to further up the pitch (possibly due to our lack of options) didn’t Mowbray do/say something similar with Andrew Taylor (left back who he said could succeed at midfield)

Also in a similar vein Joe Bennett (left back who he said wasn’t clever enough to play further up the pitch) and Andy Halliday (left back who was signed as a striker)

Spence may have lost some focus in the last 12 months - there was the scooter incident in May which seemed unprofessional for very expensive players to get involved with. Also the NW comments about what the future hold for Djed that he could Premier League or non league.

There were no problems last season with Morsy. Vaccine issues may have arised this Summer and created some tension. However to me it was a mistake to release him.

Right back we have Dijksteel as the main man and Peltier, McNair and Howson who can all do as decent a job as Spence there till Fisher is back as full time understudy. Left back we have Bola as the main man, and Peltier and whoever else we can rustle up from the U-23 squad, not ideal but @newyddion is organizing a Twitter campaign to sign the Iraqi Ian Harte as we speak.

Spence has never delivered anywhere near enough on the wing to be considered a first teamer for a top ten Championship club for me. And with three or four players ahead of him in the wide forward/wing role (you would hope) when everyone is fit the move makes sense IMHO.
How much is it gonna set us back to get Ali Adnan on a plane to Teesside Airport?
