The South Stand.

Normally go in the North Stand. Got a ticket for the South Stand for the PNE game to see what the atmosphere was like. Pre game in the concourse, very similar. Probably less beer in the bins and a younger crowd. Got to my seat on the end of a row and sat down. A bloke in the row in front turned up and said. “Don’t worry mate, I’ll stand in the gangway”. I turned round and every was standing up! Two minutes later I stood up. We were all singing and the bloke in front stood talking to his mate in the gangway all first half, like being in the Holgate end. There were no problems and I saw three goals in the first half. At half time nipped out for a fag at half time (don’t smoke) and walked to the North Stand. Finished my fag(!) and watched the second half from my own seat. Nice to have a sit down. Saw another goal in our half. Summary, South Stand not good if you have kids or you are small but good atmosphere. xx

Used to switch ends all the time back when the away fans were in the south stand.

I thought the South Stand was a bit quiet last night but it was kind of one of those games were the match felt like it was won early and it wasn't particularly competitive.

The south (and the whole ground) was relatively subdued last night.
It felt a bit odd given the convincing victory, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
It was freezing also.
I think when a game is so one sided it kills the atmosphere.
I never leave early but I wanted to go after 75 mins last night. The game was won and Preston were throwing nothing back. It was quiet. I was freezing. Little lad had school next day.
My lad convinced me to stay so we could cheer the lads at the final whistle. I'm glad he did.

If it had been a boxing match, the referee would have stopped it at half time

Lots of missing season ticket holders in the North stand last night - two rows below where I sit were practically empty.

In some ways I can understand it when the game is on Sky and the weather is freezing, but I'd still rather be at the Riverside all day long.

Maybe lads working away or kids who don't go on school nights mixed in as well as people who just haven't bothered.

Yeah, I accept some will have genuine reasons as to why they didn't attend.

There's a couple of lads who sit in front of me, who never seem to show when it's a sky game though. Just seems like too much of a coincidence to me.
