The PMs message tonight - spoiler alert

it's already been recorded to stop him overwaffling and it's been drip-leaked to media for last 4 days so we already know it's

1. Garden Centres opening
2. People who can work outside and socially distance can return to work.
3. More exercise allowed per day
4. 5 point warning system.
5. Quarantine travellers.
6. Fake testing figures.

and change the slogan - removing 'stay at home' and 'protect the nhs' - so it's now basically 'do what you wan't and 'stuff the nhs' ie carry on culling

Kuepper that is a catchy slogan, email Johnson and offer your services.

We are buggered with shallow thinking Johnson in charge. We really are. It seems we continue to react rather than carefully plan, using solid data to drive decisions. It's not even that difficult.

Captain Cull strikes again. You’d think someone over the age of 70 would be a little more, let’s say grown up by now?

New slogan is entirely meaningless

You will notice the change of colour. Red = Danger... Green = Go

First line is important "Stay Home" simple, easily understoodm clear... "Stay Alert"...

Alert to what? "Look out virus over there!"? Meaningless, so Andrew Marr (let us not forget Johnson's interviewer of choice at the GE so not exactly an attack dog) asks Robert Jenrick for an explanation he says, “‘Stay alert’ will mean ‘stay alert by staying at home’.”

I mean **** off.

Best explanation I have found comes from a spoof BoJo account on Twitter "If you see a coronavirus coming towards you, protect yourself by bursting into a rendition of We'll Meet Again while waving the emergency Union Jack which you are legally required to keep in your pocket at all times."

We should follow the science. Apparently science has proven that a Union Jack mask works, whereas no other flag is effective.

My issue is this

not one person on on the planet has yet received a working vaccine

so what realistically has changed ???

Death and taxes. Stop deaths and you decrease tax income, allow people back to work in an unsafe environment and you increase tax income at the expense of more deaths.
It's a tagline already being pushed in the media and then on here by some.

I'm not even annoyed by the new phrasing. What I'm ****ed off about is the fact the person people voted in to lead this country (I wasn't one of them) has appeared at ONE daily briefing since his illness and his new baby.

Who actually gives a **** what a transport secretary had to say about some money for some cycle lanes? Who cares what the environment secretary has to say? I mean come on even the home F***ing secretary has only appeared twice. TWICE.

If none of the current government want to do what they were voted in to do which is lead and run the country then they should step aside immediately and let someone in who does.

In the explanation (yes, the explanation they have put together so people understand the slogan)

‘Limit your contact with other people’

So - potentially (not exhaustive)
have contact with a limited number of people for a long time
or have contact with lots of people for limited amount of time

So are my kids allowed to visit the grandparents now or not?
Can I go see my mates?

So many questions

In all likelihood I'm stating the utterly bleedin obvious but all the pre-amble to tonight's official communication is that instead of providing clarity, confidence and a robust plan for the forthcoming weeks and months, the govt have managed to do quite the opposite. Although not a Tory voter, I gave some credence to Johnson and the govt towards the beginning of this situation, but soon after I had to revise my view based on the ineptitude of the govt policy in so many areas (we don't need me to list those again). The longer this goes on, the more it becomes an absolute shít show with more ambiguity and indecision at every juncture.

I don't profess to have any or all of the answers, but any one of us with some critical thinking could probably provide greater clarity and direction given the resources available
