The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

"Force majeure is a legal concept in which unforeseen circumstances prevent a party from fulfilling a contract."

Who could have foreseen the 9 month old covid pandemic,r the four year old decision to leave the EU or the effects of the agreement that they themselves crafted and agreed to uphold :D

Smacks of absolute desperation but an ill advised and doomed to failure attempt to use a doctrine of the French civil code is deliciously ironic.

This pack of lying criminals (the Tory government) have no moral compass.
They operate like a modern day colonial power using modern day techniques

utterly shameful and it’s the usual entitlement approach ‘cake and eat it’

They're kidding only themselves and their dim followers if they think they can use FM as a get out clause from their recently signed agreement/treaty. It'll be laughed at by the EU and USA.

I recognise that this lot are interested in one thing only......what's in it for me that's why I'll never vote for them.

1984 stuff is a conspiracy remember.
leave the trolling for one day mate, it's a fair analogy to a party that have scant regard for the truth on a daily basis. A party that said "no one is talking about leaving the single market" before taking us out of the single market. A party that said "there will be no border down the Irish sea" before placing a border down the Irish sea, a party that one day claims there was never a PPE shortage, but then the next uses PPE shortage as an excuse to cover it's corruption. Its a fair cop by Adi

It is an odd one.

According to the Government the border checks in the Channel are frictionless and not having an impact on trade but the border checks in the Irish Sea are so disruptive they have to be suspended.

I'm not trolling I'm actually agreeing with Adi's post.

This country is well on its way to the one portrayed in the book. People were saying this last year and had it thrown back in their faces.

These consequences were not only entirely foreseeable, they were entirely foreseen. They were pointed out repeatedly by civil servants to ministers. You can't leave the Single Market and have frictionless trade. You can oil the wheels but, ultimately, a border must go somewhere. This is 'cakeism' coming home to roost.

This kind of chaos was always going to happen once Johnson and his echo chamber were granted governance, this has little do with Conservatism and everything to do with the incompetence cult that masquerades as politics around the Prime Minister, his scant regard of the truth and innocuous little boy lost act have somehow removed any accountability from the minds of many voters seemingly hypnotised by the get Brexit done mantra and a world class vaccination roll out from the organisation that has been consistently kicked, let down and scapegoated.

The conjuring act's piece de resistance is to convince the average person that their tax is better served in the tax exempt, offshore, bank account of a billionaire with no UK ties beyond a Passport than in the taxed and national insured pocket of a nurse or to provide adequate means of support for many of those average people who are currently suffering hard times, some, in part, due to the policies of those in power and their cohorts who benefit from their governance.
